What to expect
In order to make the services of The Shiatsu Effect possible, the following conditions have been drawn up. This makes it pleasant to work for both the therapist and the client. Do you have a question about this? Feel free to get in touch.
Terms and Conditions
Therapy
The first consultation consists of an intake interview and the first treatment. The complaints are clearly mapped out by means of an intake interview. Among other things, questions are asked regarding your medical and sporting past. If in doubt about a certain condition or injury, we can stop the treatment and refer you to a doctor.

Normally the first treatment follows after the intake. In this way the treatment trajectory can be well established and you can feel what the therapy entails.

If you are already being treated by, for example, a doctor, therapist or specialist, we may ask you to discuss with your practitioner whether one of our treatments may be used during the treatment period. This applies also for drug use.

If you withhold information about any illnesses, injuries and the like, you can NOT hold The Shiatsu Effect responsible for the results or consequences during or after a treatment given by us.

Treatment of children
For the treatment of children up to the age of 16, written permission is required from both parents (or guardians or guardian). For children up to the age of 12, both parents must give permission, even if you are divorced. For children between 12 and 16 years old, the parents and the child decide together, while the child has the last word.

Identify at first appointment
At the request of the health insurers, you will be asked to show an ID at the first appointment. This guarantees that the person who is going to submit a claim to the health insurer is also the person who has been treated. This step takes effect from the moment that the treatments of The Shiatsu Effect can also be reimbursed.

Terms of payment
The invoice amount must be paid immediately in cash or by bank app or Tikkie. In exceptional cases, payment can be made to The Shiatsu Effect no later than 14 days after the invoice date.
If the client fails to pay within the period of 14 days, the client is legally in default. Price changes are reserved.
Cancel an appointment
You must cancel appointments made at least 48 hours in advance. In the event of late cancellation of the appointment and/or inability to give notice without notice, we are forced to charge the treatment costs. This is the full amount if canceled within 24 hours, half of the amount if canceled between 24 and 48 hours in advance.

Confidentiality
All information arising from the collaboration between The Shiatsu Effect and the client is considered strictly confidential and treated as such. All your personal and medical information will never be disclosed to third parties without your permission.

Professional associations
The Shiatsu Effect is affiliated with the Shiatsu Association Netherlands (SVN) and soon also the Register of Complementary Care Professionals (RBCZ).
All therapists affiliated with the above-mentioned professional association are trained professionals who work according to established quality requirements.
Fees
On www.shiatsuvereniging.nl You will find all health insurers that are prepared to reimburse consultations and treatments in whole or in part based on the additional policy conditions. Always check with your own insurance whether the treatment of The Shiatsu Effect is covered.
Liability
Het Shiatsu Effect is not liable for damage or loss of personal belongings.

Ethics and hygiene
Ethics and hygiene are highly regarded within The Shiatsu Effect. We expect our clients to take care of this as well.
The Shiatsu Effect provides a clean pillowcase, of course you can always bring your own towel and/or pillowcase if you prefer.
The Shiatsu Effect reserves the right to refuse clients.

Complaints procedure
As of January 2017, all active therapists must have a complaints officer and be affiliated with a disputes committee. This is included in the Wkkgz (the Quality, Complaints, Disputes in Healthcare Act) Act. As a result of our membership of the SVN, we are affiliated with SCAG for the complaints officer and with Disciplinary Law Complementary Care (TCZ) for the disputes committee. We will also soon be registered in the TCR/RBCZ register, where disciplinary law is organised.

Should there be any dissatisfaction with the service for any reason, communication will be open to reach a mutual solution. Not losing sight of the fact that the practitioner will always act from his/her profession and that the client has his/her own responsibility for precisely this treatment. You can also submit your complaint by e-mail to Marjolijn via theshiatsueffect@gmail.com.
But you can also contact the aforementioned authorities at any time. This can be done, for example, via contact@shiatsuvereniging.nl .
